Life Infront Of Me

August 22, 2010. A usual morning, I got up from bed, prepared for work, had breakfast and off I go. It was an ordinary Sunday until *BAMMMM* the jeepney I was on hit a tree. I can smell the old tire and gasoline. I can see the spare parts and hear the cries of the people around me. "I musn't be scared." That's all I ever told myself. I reached for my cellphone and asked my mom to come over for help. I can't feel my knee anymore. It's numb. I pulled myself out of the jeepney fearing that it might explode. I saw it with my own two eyes. The blood. The torn skin. The bone peeking from my flesh. I breathed with all my might coz I have to be strong for myself. No tears, I say. I kept myself calm until I got to the hospital. There I was, being the strong woman that i never thought I could ever be. I went to the Operating Room. Stitch, stitch, stitch, and my wound's now closed. While I was in the Recovery Room, I was injected with a pain reliever that ALMOST GOT ME KILLED. It was like that injection was sucking life out of me... I told myself I had to live. Short breaths. Shorter breaths. tooot. tooot. zzzzzzZZZZZZZ. I'm awake and I'm still alive! I saw my life infront of me. I was dying in that moment. My eyelids were half-closed because I try to keep myself alive. I fought for breath. I fought for life. I fought for my mom, my sister, everyone. I fought for God. I cried each time I remember what happened. I should've not gone out home, I should've not ridden that jeepney, I should've stayed home a little longer or got out earlier. I should, should, should but I did and I won't be able take things back. Questions linger my head. Why does this have to happen to me? Am I that bad? Do I ever deserve this? Will I ever get back to normal? Then I thought of how lucky I was to be alive, lucky I am to be able to breathe and sit and talk. I'm lucky to have lived. I wouldn't put this life God gave me to waste. Maybe this is His answer to my wish, which I asked him last August 21, 2010 .... "I want to start a new life..." and so, here it is. A new life. A fresh start. A clean slate. A beginning...

2012

I got the knowledge about this movie months ago through the net. I thought it'll be just some sort of documentary but it sorta became a resemblance of The Day After Tomorrow - only better. I'm really all-curious about these types of movies. I loved Sci-Fi movies since I was a kid. This movie also reminded me of James Bond's Moonraker. They made a ship in order to save some living organisms. But JB Moonraker is somewhat saving life selfishly and with a different kind of purpose. Well, going back to 2012, I was really shocked! I was saying Shit and Fuck the whole time i was watching the movie. I was like "Oh hell! Ya gots ta be shitting me!!!" While the roads were opening and everything seems to be falling apart with all the fire and ashes plus the ginormous amount of tsunami. Whew! BREATH-TAKING! If this movie was a monster, It will eat you alive. like hell. whooo-ee! I really can't express that much but all i'm saying is that this movie is quite depressing if you don't have 1 Billion Euro in your pocket. Well, yeah nobody was assured but one thing's for sure, 2012 caused me much headache.

Some TRIVIAS:

  • The cheering during the ark boarding sequence was the result of an announcement that Barack Obama had been elected President.

  • The character Jackson Curtis is the real name of 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) backwards.

  • Jacksons' son's name is Noah, an obvious reference to the biblical story of Noah's ark.

Serena van der Bitch vs. Blair Walbarf

You're nobody until you're talked about.

The fight between SERENA VAN DER WOODSEN and BLAIR WALDORF is still on.

Serena van der Woodsen is part of the elite group in Manhattan. Her best friend is Blair Waldorf. She has gone out with Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey. Her mother has recently married Chuck Bass' father.

Blair Waldorf, A hopeless romantic who idolizes Audrey Hepburn, Blair's sensitive side contrasts with her tendency to be bitchy and controlling. She is rather vain, though her friendship with uber-girl Serena van der Woodsen causes her to be insecure at times. Blair uses her charm, money, and social clout to get whatever she wants. She has a turbulent relationship with Nate Archibald throughout the series." She loses her virginity to his friend Chuck Bass.

-- I knew Gossip Girl from my friends who were like so enthralled with the twist of the story. I was like "YeahYeah, this might be another TV Series that teeny-boppers like. Welcome to loserville. Ugh"  But i got too curious because everyone was talking about it. So i bought a DVD and jumped on my couch then i realized, i was hooked up; even my sister was. Then and there, i talk about it a lot of times - the ill-fated story, romance, fashion, clique-fights, and the life of a socialite. Well, not everybody gets to have a chance to be a hotel heir's girlfriend. Cheers to Gossip Girl, xoxo

-GOSSIP GIRL-

Welcome to New York's Upper East side where the wealthy and connected mingle at benefits and try to deal with their always dramatic love lives, not to mention picking colleges. Blair Waldorf is the so-called toast of adolescence in her world; she and her friends, Kati Farkas and Isabel Coates, go to a prep school and fancy parties with their rich parents. Blair is envied by her adversaries because she is thought to have the perfect life, not just because of her gorgeous boyfriend, Nate Archibald, but because she's also planning on getting into her dream college,Yale. With everyone worried about college(or procrastinating on worrying, which everyone seems to be doing), and senior year dragging along, her seemingly perfect life is interrupted by her ex-best friend, the beautiful Serena van der Woodsen, coming back into town after getting kicked out of boarding school. Serena comes back into her life, and into the eyes of Blair's boy friend. When everything Blair knows starts to fall apart, everyone will realize that her life is far from perfect. Will life in the the Upper East Side redeem itself of what it's really supposed to be? Or will the false facade reveal that the rich have the same problems as the not so rich (Jenny and Dan Humphrey), if not more. And just maybe Jenny and Dan are all the more happy with their simple, not so expectant lives.

TRIVIAS

  • Was originally pitched as a feature with Lindsay Lohan as Blair Waldorf. When that fell through, its backers (who had the rights to the stories) approached Josh Schwartz about turning it into a series.

  • Originally, Georgina Sparks was offered to Mischa Barton, who turned down the role. Michelle Trachtenberg was then cast as Georgina Sparks.

  • The name of Rufus' band, "Lincoln Hawk", is also the name of Sylvester Stallone's character in the movie Over the Top (1987). That movie is mentioned several times as being a cult-classic in "The O.C." (2003), the previous show from Josh Schwartz, the creator of this series.

  • Leighton Meester had to dye her naturally blonde hair brunette merely to audition for the role of Blair Waldorf.

  • The show's beginning date took place, chronologically, after it was aired. The show aired in Canada on September 18, 2007 and aired in the US on September 19, 2007. The show starts on Wednesday September 23, 2007 and ends on Saturday September 26, 2007, thus all dates in the Pilot fall after their air date.

Cheddar for the later

Our topic this morning is all about saving up, "What's the best way to save money". We got a lot of advices and tips from our listeners which includes the battle of NEEDS vs. WANTS. You should only buy the things you need -- that's what they said. Overspending on things that you might not actually need will lead you to bankruptcy. Well, i searched the net and i got some tips on How To Save Money. So, here ye go!

  • Establish a Time frame! If you want to be able to purchase a house in the next 3 years, set a date for that goal. Make sure that the alloted time is adequate for what you are saving for. If it’s not attainable, you’ll just get discouraged.
  • How much?? Figure out how much you’ll have to save per week, per month, or per paycheck to reach your savings goals. Take each thing you want to save for and figure out how much you need to start saving now.
  • Keep a record of your expenses! Take a look at your expenses. Write down everything that you spend your money on for one month. Be as detailed as possible, and try not to leave out small purchases. Assign each purchase or expenditure a category such as: Rent, Car insurance, Car payments, Phone Bill, Cable Bill, Utilities, Gas, Food, Entertainment, etc. This will give you an idea of where you can cut back and be able to throw it into the savings account.
  • Credit Cards...Stop using them! This is the hardest thing to stop. Try to pay for everything with cash. Don't even use checks, its easier to lose track using checks, especially if keeping good records is not your forte! With cash, you can see when you are running low and keep your mind set on the savings!
  • Open an interest-bearing savings account. Keep track of your savings by keeping it separate from your checking account! Usually, the interest is better in a savings account (if you get interest on your checking account at all).
  • Get Paid First! Your savings should be your priority, so don’t just say that you’ll save whatever is left over at the end of the month. Deposit your savings into an account as soon as you get paid. Out of sight, out of mind!
  • Know where your money is. If you accidentally overdraw your bank account, you will incur some ugly bank fees, and/or the place you paid with that check may also hit you with a bounced check fee on top of that, and send the check in again, resulting in a second overdraft fee from the bank! Always know how much money you have in your account!

TRUE BLOOD

Right about now, there's this thing called vampire-craze and almost everyone are frenzied over growing some fangs, sucking blood (not in a fancy-in-her-nancy kinda way), the gothic look, and ofcourse the VAMPISH MOVIES & TV Series. Starting off with Dracula, the Transylvania, sleeping in the coffin, myths about vampires [like they should stay out of the sun, shapeshifting into bats, fear of garlic, et. al.], the movie Interview With The Vampire with Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise, the Twilight Saga, Vampire Diaries, and True Blood, plus a gazillion more about vampires.Well, at first i was a bit ecstatic about their lifestyle -- curiosity sneaked in, i suppose. Whatevs. i just bought a True Blood dvd the other day and i can say that i really loved it. I know that there's a lot of explicit contents in the series and some of it weren't shown on cable tv. Still, the story's exhilarating. It's very different from the other stories coz True Blood is not just any other suspense/thriller. Yeah, it includes FANGBANGING (which added an oomph to the series), romance between a Vampire and a Mortal (just like in Twilight), murders, blood baths, and many more. Better watch it people! Niftily good!
